How can you write and publish a travel guide to France and leave out Marseille? The second largest city in France?!? We’re doing a summer trip to Paris and Mareseille (Cassis, and Aix-en-Provence) and aside from Paris none of our other destinations get even a mention. There is a section on Provence but it doesn’t venture south of Avignon. Sadly this book is a fail for our trip planning.

Whenever we go to a new country in Europe, we always purchase a book about it from Rick Steves collection. I just purchased his book about France and it is full of details and tips that other tour books don't have. It has been most helpful in planning our tour. You can't go wrong with Rick Steves.

France is so beautiful! When I received Rick Steves travel book I was very disappointed that the pictures were in black and white and not good quality.The information is good but the pictures and maps don't help with the research.I went to return and was going to be charged $5.99 for shipping. The book was $18.99.Not going to by these types of books on Amazon, heading to Barns and Noble today.

Wonderful unuseful book. A must-have for any trip to France. I wish that he would’ve put in a little more information of the southwestern France.

It's really important to me that my kids believe they are worthy of love no matter the state they're in. This book highlights that so beautifully; "I love you when you're angry... I love you when you're wild... I love you when you're sad...... I love you when you're playful..." It is just this mom telling her little one that she loves him always, in every state. The rhyming is wonderful and the illustrations are perfect for the feel of the book. I bought this to read to my little ones on Valentine's Day and then over and over again. It's simple text, easy for them to understand, yet still conveying the profound message. I really love this book. Buy it, read it, let your children know they are loved UNCONDITIONALLY, simply because they are them.

I got choked up the first time I read this to my little one. Such a sweet little story, perfect for bedtime or any time. I am always saying "I love you no matter what, and I will always love you." This book is so specific and spells out all the ways that a parent loves a child unconditionally. It's helpful for instilling a sense of security that a child can never lose your love, no matter what. So sweet! And the illustrations are beautiful.

This book was recommended to us by a friend and my husband and I absolutely love reading it to our son before bedtime. We love how it teaches both parents and child the importance of unconditional love. Parents should make their children feel their love and acceptance for who they are early in life so they too will learn how to value and love themselves.

my children and I LOVE this book! It truly is our favorite ... the pages are fairly durable ... I give this book out at every baby shower I attend. We found this book before my last child was born, and we started reading it to him from day one. We have multiple copies so that when we are traveling or someone is away, we send a copy and keep a copy, when it's time to read it, we call up our missing family member and read together. The last pages in the book say: "I love you any way you are, and no matter what you do. I love you, because you're you."

Most of the book is "this is why I am the best" "this is why I know more than you" "if they listened to me, they'd still be in business" "if you don't apply SCRUM you're stupid". Like dang, buddy, save some ego for the rest of us. The "SCRUM System" he developed genuinely seems like it's helpful and applying it to our everyday work will be beneficial, which is why I gave it 2 stars. But every chapter he says "I'll explain more about SCRUM later", which is annoying considering I was reading this book to learn about SCRUM, not about the all-mighty Sutherlands achievements. The process seems efficient, the writing is obnoxious. If he had written a 2 page manual about applying SCRUM, he would have accomplished twice the work in half the time...

Why did I choose this book? Its the premier book in scrum created by one of its founders. And it had fantastic reviews.Do NOT listen to people who say "it doesn't teach you how to implement scrum." yes it does. Boring book, does not teach you anything about Scrum itself. Couple of methods here and there are thrown in there without giving further explanation, but the whole book is basically about how Jeff Sutherland is the man. Jeff created this, saves this company, helped this person the title of the book should just be called Biography of Jeff Sutherland. Also throwing in the book just bunch of random quotes and examples of other books and stories that were just Googled probably to add it to the book. The main point of the book could of been explained on 1 page. Waste of $20

The first thing to know is that this isn't a detailed guide to Scrum practices, though there is a summary of the key practices in an appendix. Since there are lots of guides to Scrum at the practices at varying levels of details, having more about what the practices are would not add a lot of value. This book does inform you about how scrum works by helping you to understand the value of Scrum through stories of Scrum in use in various domains, and not just software.. The book is full of war stories (both literally and figuratively), and Sutherland is clearly proud of how he, his family, and organizations he has worked with, have applied scrum. Reading this book will help energize you to use Scrum to help your team succeed. This is not the only book on Scum you need. But if you want motivation to explore more about Scrum, or if you have been practicing Scrum for a while and are looking for renewed inspiration, give this book a read.

Many Scrum books discuss the "how". This book focuses on the "why". I think it's very important to understand the "why" before trying to worry about the "how", so if you're new to Scrum and are thinking about diving straight into a book discussing the processes, I recommend taking a step back and reading something like this to understand where Scrum came from, what problems it is designed to solve, and how it is applicable to your situation, if at all.It gets a little over-ambitious towards the end, and tends to view Scrum as a silver bullet, which it is not, but the discussion in the first half of the book is great.

André Bernard was raised in Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated at age nineteen from the University of South Carolina with a chemistry and math major and a theater minor. His professional acting career included over a hundred performances both On and Off Broadway and appearances on television. Bernard was a student of Barbara Clark, who further developed ideokinesis after she studied with the founder, Mabel Elsworth Todd. From 1966 until 2001, Bernard taught ideokinesis at the New York University and elsewhere. He died in May 2003 in New York City.Wolfgang Steinmuller studied medicine in Freiburg/Brsg, Germany, and trained in the Feldenkrais method with Mia Segal from 1986 to 1989. His important teachers in the field of movement have included Andre Bernard and Amos Hetz of Israel. He works as a physician in private practice. He is the anatomy teacher and medical director of the Soma-Institut, which offers continuing education for bodyworkers.Ursula Stricker has been dancing and drawing ever since she could. Perrrrrfect booklet for learning + practicing my lettering. I can't believe the price?? I figured maybe with the lower price point it would lack in exercises, but not only does it have a ton of letter drills (different styles!!), but even has some fun word projects at the end!! I loved calligraphy ever since I was young and also love art. This book combines the best of both worlds! I wanted to learn to do this more modern form of calligraphy because hand lettering is very popular for chalkboard signs and canvas art. This book has plenty of practice space and I've been very much enjoying myself learning to do this type of writing art.

This book is more condense in instructions and seems to be for those more advance in hand lettering art craft. I'm a super beginner and teaching myself and found it a bit hard to follow. But is beautifully made, very professional and I'm sure once I'm more experienced will give this book a good use. Great product and service.

I purchased this because I always dreamed of having better hand writing. This was perfect. I know have a style to my writing and it looks cleaner. The book is very informative, straight forward and easy to follow. I love the practice areas and how you can trace the letters.

I really like the way that this book is structured and I like that it gives you a lot of practice space. And I like the ideas for projects :-)

When I received this book, it did not take long to decide that it was not for me. It is very basic and contains material that can easily be found online for free. It contains various letter styles and practice space, but overall, it was not worth what I paid. I must say that I immediately requested a refund. I have purchased other books here on Amazon that have been far more helpful.

Please remember to check your child's computer access. This was a very complete book and I agree with other reviewers that it is a good source of information... however my child google terms shortly after reading this book, and I did not realize that my safety settings do not block google images. :( Not too much harm done (I think!), but thought I should warn other parents... I explained to my child that computers save browsing history so people can see what others have searched/looked at, that there is inappropriate and harmful content online, that computers can get viruses or other issues when inappropriate links are opened, etc. But first I did freak out (while trying not to show it), so I hope this helps other parents! Also, if anyone has comments on this for how to handle, I would appreciate any suggestions (can you reply to a review? hmmm), thanks!

Please note that this book does not hold back when talking about sex nor does it hold back with its pictures. You need to decide your comfort levels about sex and what you feel is appropriate for your children.I found this book to be very informative and written at a level for preadolescent kids to be able to easily understand. It's laid out with illustrations and small comics in a way to help keep their attention. It does show naked bodies, genitalia , people having intercourse, and so forth. It covers a variety of topics that are important in today's world such as no means no, how to stay safe online, be careful what you text and email, and of course, safe sex practices.

I am amazed at how much I enjoyed this book. It's a great tasteful presentation of the human body with lots of scientific information on how babies are made all the way through childbirth. So, for other moms/dads out there needing to have "the talk" with their child, I highly recommend this book as a guide. I'm a nurse, so i can talk alllll about anatomy and processes, but i wanted something with pictures i could use to facilitate that would be better than what i could draw and not so real that she'd be grossed out. I bought this book over a year ago waiting for the moment I'd need it. Well, today, it was finally time to address some of my 9yr old daughter's questions. What i like about this book is that it's worded so well that a child could potentially read it on their own, although i recommend reading together. We read through the first half together, saving the growth of a baby in utero for another time. I would summarize/ elaborate sometimes and answer any questions that came up, but to honest, this pretty much answered her questions. Plus, some of it is written in "comic book" style, which she loves reading and kept her attention. It even has a chapter on good touch, bad touch. We did read through the parts that discussed homosexuality and masturbation. I feel like it's important for her to understand. I also used those parts as a way to discuss how others may feel about those topics. It is a lot of information and I am sure she isn't going to remember it all, but I told her where I would keep it if she ever wants to refer back to it. Great tool!

I love this book! It has a great message about being an individual while not telling kids how unrealistically special they are. I don't like books that tell kids that they are more special than others, etc. This one talks about how sometimes you need to stand out and sometimes you need to fit in. I think it is the perfect balance of teaching kids that it's okay to be different and it's okay to be the same, so long as you stay true to who you are.I liked this book so much that I bought Linda Kranz's other book You Be You. Sweet book with an important message on accepting yourself and others for who they are. I bought this for my preschool classroom and the children loved the colorful illustrations. Toddler really likes the pictures, but the content (to me) seems more like its written for adults. I mean - I get it... but I'm not sure my 3 year old really does. I bought this book for my nephew who isn't talking yet, but has a Spanish speaking mother and English speaking father. It is absolutely adorable. The story is cute and the illustrations are so neat and colorful. Everyone in the family loves it.

Also, in some places the English doesn't match the Chinese above it or is missing for a line or two.Overall the translation is simple and clear, though, and I agree with it most of the time over Ellen Chen's 1989 version, though using both sheds light into harder to understand parts.Would use as a quick guide because its searchable offline and tabulated by chapters, but be sure to cross-check due to typos!!

really poor translation. lots of Chinese paragraphs remain untranslated. Don't waste your money

I don't read chinese, but it is interesting to see the chinese characters along side the english translation. The translation is good, too. I read the Tao Te Ching in several translations and this one fits in well.

bilingual good is - Yoda.

The Chinese language portion does not show up in the ebook version.

Apparently few Americans head to Malta, as I've had a hard time finding comprehensive information on the place (No Rick Steves, Rough Guide, Time Out, etc.) but this book is the answer to my prayers. I started with the Lonely Planet guide, but it's pretty basic. This is SO much more informative and gives a plethora of information on every topic you could imagine, including an expanded list of accommodations. While this guide is also written by the British, it includes helpful info for Americans and is just an all-around more in-depth guide to the islands (not that I mind British guidebooks, but I have noticed they have a different perspective on Europe than an American traveler may be looking for). I was not previously familiar with Bradt, but will consider them in the future for other trips.

I thought I was buying a used book but it looked like it had never even been opened. The guide is exactly what I was seeking in order to create an itinerary for our forthcoming week long trip to Malta. I just purchased the Malta Heritage Pass which provides admission to twenty or so museums and historical sits so the guide will enable me to carefully choose which to visit since there is not time to see all.

Good info for planning a trip to Malta. It seems to be based from the perspective of a traveler from the U.K. So the tour agencies listed are based in the UK but otherwise its great even if you're from elsewhere.

I bought this as well as Lonely Planet, and I like this one better because it's meatier. It has so much more detailed information than the lonely Planet book--was really a gem on the trip!

Kids enjoy the readings in this resource. Makes it feel like you're reading to learn information, not reading to learn to read.

I thought there would be more stories than there are. The works are not as challenging as I thought they'd be. The third grade book was so good, so I thought this one would be too. I was wrong. Not worth the LONG delivery wait.
