I enjoyed the first of the Black River Chronicles and was looking forward to the second book. When the Ursvaal Exchange came I quickly ordered it. I was impressed with how the characters had to adapt to a different situation & succeed at doing so growing along the way. Other characters join their journey and I find myself wondering what's next?? This has the makings of a good series & as a rule I don't like series so if an author can keep my interest that says a lot about David Tallerman.

I read the first and enjoyed it enough to continue on. I love how fun the book. It struggles in terms of character development but makes up for it in good action and the enjoyable plot. I just hope the writer decide to explore the different characters, races, and the world the story takes place in further in future installments. I want more of the explanations like sudra syn and tia's mother but applied to the other characters and possibly new characters.

Loved the sequel. Still like the premise of a book written with RPG characters, it’s cool. Wish the author would continue this!

Anxiously awaiting the next book. I liked how the main character had to transfer to a different school and he had to change from a Ranger to a Bard. That was a good way to maintain a familiar storyline but keep it new.

A couple of years back I bought two low cholesterol cookbooks at a used book sale; one of them was put out by the American Heart Association. But since it was written in 1989, it was before the invention of "trans fats". So I decided to spring for another.I didn't want the Kindle version for $9, nor the paperback for $13. I went all out and bought the hard covered book for $26. If I'm going to use it much, the paperback will have a hard time surviving 5 years, and I find it hard to just flip through e-books and read them, especially cookbooks, where I want to flip back and forth. Just give me a real book and a pad of post-its, thank you.So I got this last Wednesday, and spent about 6 hours reading it. This is a huge cookbook, at around 700 pages. Maybe 450 to 500 pages are recipes, and the rest is verbiage about healthy eating and so forth. It's nearly twice the size of the earlier version which I have, with many more recipes, but it does lack some very vital information which was in the earlier version, such as how saturated fats translate into cholesterol in the body, and recipes for things like lowfat mayonnaise, and how to replace staples of life with healthier alternatives. This book, for example, instead of telling you that you can beat nonfat evaporated milk for a good whipped cream substitute, tells you to use the nonfat whipped topping from the freezer case at the supermarket (which tastes like vaseline to me). These are some serious flaws.The recipes seem to rely upon really amping up the spices to make up for the missing salt; also, many, many, many of their recipes call for bell peppers, to which I am allergic. If lots of peppers are vital for flavor, I'm kind of sunk. However, I have tried a couple of their recipes, and those were pretty good. If you're not a fan of spicy hot food, be very careful with the use of red pepper flakes, which also seem to be a staple of this cookbook.Overall, this cookbook does a pretty good job of telling you how to cook heart healthy meals. Long and short of it: Good, but not great.

HUGE selection of recipes sure to fit anyone's tastes, but no photos!!!! Photos offer such an inspiration to make a dish, and I miss those so much!!! I would've paid more for the book had they included those. Maybe they were trying to keep the costs down. If so, I can respect that, for sure. It's a very thick book and if you don't need photos, there's a ton here. If you need photos, you might be disappointed.

My wife and I ordered this cookbook as soon as I was released from the hospital. I had had a heart attack at age 58, and healthier eating--low-fat, low-cholesterol, low-sodium, smaller portions--was on the menu. It has now been more than six weeks, and we have eaten about 90 percent of our meals from this book. People ask me, "what do you miss most?" and I have nothing to say. The recipes have yielded such tasty meals that I truly never think about the fact that I'm not getting the salt or fat I was so used to.I recommend this book to anyone who needs or wants to eat healthy food. My wife did not have a heart attack, but she has chosen to eat exactly what I eat (and is losing weight, as I am, because of it) and is enjoying the food every bit as much as I am.Get this cookbook as soon as you can.

This has been a GREAT help.It's for my mom but everyone in my household has come down with something where we need a variation of this diet! I needed a diabetic diet and this meets our needs very well.What i didn't expect was this book doesn't treat you as if you already know how to do certain types of cooking. Online tutorials have not been kind to this newlywed. I've learned so much on top of getting to eat healthier! We've even trimmed down a bit thanks to recipes for homemade broths and seasoning mixes and various other staples for cooking in this book. (Try the taco recipes if you get this, my family loves how flavorful they came out.)Combine this book with a transition from store bought seasoning mixes with more than 100mg of sodium (not % but MG!! If you're also on a "under 1500mg of sodium" limit as well) and canned veggies to frozen and you're well on you're way to better health! (Purely my opinion as my body struggles with preservatives in canned products. I know not everyone can afford dropping cans from their lives. Even We don't buy fresh. I could go into detail but I'm reviewing the book not my life lol)Definitely something to look into, even if you don't have cardiac or diabetic issues!

Until I got this cookbook.I am only 31 years old. And after giving birth to my daughter 7 months ago (and a horrible 12 day hospital stay), I was told I had heart failure (cardiomyopathy). It was devastating. Then once I learned what eating too much sodium really does to me and causes breathing problems, I knew I really had to stick to my Doctor's orders of consuming no more than 1,500 mg of sodium a day.I never thought I ate much sodium. I was the kind of person who rarley salted my food, I didn't eat fast food, I tried to get natural or organic ingredients, I even had unsalted butter at home. No one realizes that sodium is in EVERYTHING once you really look at it. So when you're faced with having to restrict your intake, it's daunting and depressing. I cried so many times thinking I'd never get to eat at a restaurant ever again. I'd never have good tasting food again.First I ordered the No-Salt cookbook. Hated it. Most bland food I've ever had.Then I tried this. Oh my god, it allows me to eat CHEESE and BACON! (Wisconsin girl here) I am telling you, you will not think you are eating low sodium meals with this cook book. Not only are the recipes low sodium, but low fat too. They really know how to bring out flavors without salt. My husband cooks recipes from this book every night for me, and even he likes it. I've only had a couple recipes so far that I didn't care for much. This is a winner!Also, look up the AHA Healthy Slow Cooker Cookbook.

Confederate cavalry leader John Mosby is among the most romantic characters in the Civil War, and with good reason. From 1863 to the end of the conflict, Mosby's raiders were a constant headache for the North. Although more than 1,000 men served under Mosby, they usually acted in small detachments of several dozen, sacking supply depots, attacking railroads, and harassing federal troops. They seemed to move behind enemy lines almost at will, and in what is perhaps their most celebrated exploit, a handful of them led by Mosby himself rode into Fairfax Station, Virginia, in the dead of the night and kidnapped a Union general. When they were not on missions, Mosby's riders simply melted into the countryside, finding safe haven in the homes of sympathetic civilians. Theirs was a guerilla war. The frustrated North eventually assigned a special contingent of cavalry to combat them, and a price was ultimately put on Mosby's head. Nobody reined him in, however, and his command enjoyed the proud distinction of never having formally surrendered to the bluecoats. Shortly after Appomattox, Mosby simply disbanded his unit. Enjoyed the read and learned a few things. Great subject matter and wonderful history. I somehow think it could have been written in a slightly more interesting manner, but overall I would still recommend the book.

This is a great book for those who enjoy immersing themselves in the life and mindset of Civil War times. It places you in the midst of the Rangers' forays, the hardships they endured, and their daring and determination. So much of what was central to their lives--for example, their reliance on and mastery of horsemanship--has disappeared forever. A personal connection led me to this book, after I learned that my great-great-grandfather fought with Mosby's Rangers--and I was thrilled to find his name listed in the appendix. But anyone who is interested in gaining a whole understanding of the Civil War should read this book, as it looks into a kind of fighting other than the movements of mass armies, that nevertheless played a vital role in the overall conflict.

If you are interested in Mosby's Rangers, this is a great book. This is NOT a biography of John S. Mosby, though. It is a biography of the unit, with special attention towards the leader. The book was gripping, especially for someone who grew up and lives on the edge of Mosby's Confederacy.I would warn others, though, that the lack of maps (Only one at the beginning of the book that charts all of Northern Virginia), can lead to confusion about the whereabouts of the Rangers, their adversaries, or allies, as well as the general positions of the people when in conflict. This is a let down to me since Wert included many maps in "Longstreet" to help transplant people to the Tennessee and Virginia battlefields, but I had to rely on my own knowledge of the area for Mosby's Rangers.

This "book" is 33 pages of general rambling about commonly known subjects like it is important to have a brand idea, or to use a decent theme, to use a mission statement, use relevant images, etc. There is not a single diagram or image in the book, there is zero information on Wordpress itself, or how to use it, and no information at all on the items described in the book's tagline ("Simple, Effective and Advanced Strategies to Build a Beautiful Wordpress Website"). This is the single most worthless item I have ever purchased ... on Amazon or elsewhere ... and I can't imagine why someone would go through the effort to pretend that this is at all useful for learning Wordpress. It literally has zero information on Wordpress or how to use it ... none! Complete waste of money.

I choosed this rating for the book because it guides from very beginning, to set up and selecting themes and maintain content also tips about content how to write it in excellent way. Managing wordpress is not that difficult for me now.What I don't like about this book is that it is short book, I wish if it could be more detailed as I learned easily basic things and now wanted to learn it on advance level too.

I thought the book would show me how to download pictures and make changes in my website. Instead, they just gave me ideas about what I should say or write. I already knew what I wanted to say. I needed technical help. It wasn't there.

It's an incredibly brief overview of incredibly basic website advice. Very little that is definitive or illuminating. When it mentions at one point that a Favicon should be a 512x512 pixel square, it felt startling to get a piece of concrete advice. But there was nothing to follow that.

This very short book (33 pages) is much more about the basics of getting started on a business than on Wordpress

This is a 5 star read because it gives great advice on getting started with Wordpress. It explains the importance of key components to building a website on WordPress.

This book does not give any useful information for beginners. This book is so small that I read it in 5 min. Don't buy if you are looking for a Wordpress book for beginners or for any level.

Don't waste your time. This book has nothing to do with WordPress. Just a basic start-up book compiled from what the writer has read should be entitle "How to Start a Business". I don't know this book got its reviews.

This book is an introductory must-read for anyone considering living in Belize. It covered all territories and gave an honest account of how safe or unsafe certain areas are. I consider it my go-to reference. There is a plethora of information on the benefits and rules associated with each type of residency status. One other reviewer had complained about there not being enough maps, but I must have a later edition as I found very helpful maps. If one needs more detailed maps, they can be purchased from another source - the included maps were more for reference than deep detail.

Belize is a fascinating community but not for the faint at heart. If you like adventure but you are a cautious value driven investor you will appreciate the pros and cons Lan Sluder displays in this very accurate book. Dual citizen since 2002; I have done well with calculated risk and reward and happy to advise others regarding all thing Belize real estate.People that love Belize usually visit several times, falling deeper in love before they are convinced of all the benefits.

Excellent, eye opening book about living in Belize. Some of the other books/websites you look at if you are seriously looking at retiring overseas, paint Belize as a trouble-free, tropical paradise. Sluder's book will give you a look at the rest of the story. The prevelance of property crimes (breaking and enterings, thefts...) is honestly presented. The book gives you a breakdown in a "report card" format of the desirability of various areas in the country, so a potential resident can make an informed decision. If you are thinking of a Caribean retirement destination where you don't have to learn a new language, get this book. It presents the good, the bad, and the ugly of Belize.

Not only is this a very informative book for those considering a move to Belize, but it has an added bonus. The bonus is that the author is gracious enough to respond to additional questions via email, and does so within 24 hours.I've tried not to overstay my welcome, but the author, Lan Sluder continues to make me feel right at home when I pester him with 'just one more question.' I feel like Detective Columbo with all of the questions that I've posed to him.There's a ton of information in this book and after reading it, you'll definitely know whether or not a move to Belize is right for you. Lan Sluder is an excellent writer, and as mentioned above, is also a very gracious person.

Very authoritative and concise explanation of life in Belize. I enjoyed reading this book immensely.I have one suggestion for improvement on this book. The author uses a grading scale to rate various aspects of Belize. A for this, B- for that, etc.I think that approach is too precise. It's hard to distinguish a B-, for example, from a B or a C+ when everything to a typical reader is brand new. I can distinguish a B from a C more easily. I hope that makes sense.

This book is awesome! It gives so much information and is very easy to follow. I'm contemplating a move to Belize and there is so much in this book that I haven't even thought about until I read it. I've reread parts of it numerous times and shared a lot of the info with my wife. The author knows his stuff!

This book was written by someone who is familar with Belize, and provides you with the truth as to what you will encounter when you arrive, not some rosy sales pitch. A very useful tool for anyone contemplating somewhere to live during the winter or as an escape from their country of citizenship. I recommend you read this book.

great info, easy read. nice to pass around to friends who are thinking of leaving here to retire. I decided NOT to move to Belize because of the BOT flies which when they bite you lay larvae under your SKIN, also because they require retirees to deposit $25,000 in their bank every YEAR for 5 years before you can apply to be a citizen, it didn't say if YOU get to use the money or it becomes Belize's, watch amazon's awesome video series called "Mad Dogs", its filmed in Belize, after seeing that I already didn't want to retire there.Yes it's beautiful and low real estate prices, but most of the areas are very poor and the buildings, streets etc aren't maintained also there is high crime. This book helped me in my decision NOT to retire to Belize and for that it's worth 4 stars.

I read Michael Sincere's Understanding Stocks (1st Edition) about 8 years ago (slightly before the 2008 crash), and found that it was probably one of the best introductions to understanding trading and the stock market that I had so far come across. I previously had read some of the Little Book of Investing series including one by Morningstar Analyst Pat Dorsey which were very good explanations of how investing works, but offered very little explanations on how to actually place trades in the Stock Market. Like another reviewer said I placed one of my first trades with the instructions of this book ( Western Digital stock when it traded for only around 28/ share (8 yrs ago), how's that for specific!). In response to the reviewer who said this book is too general and sounds like a High School teacher's introduction to stocks I would disagree, first in this second edition which I recently purchased to see any updates or changes, he includes profiles of Wall Street legends like William O' Neal, profiles Peter Lynch's trading system, and even includes his own interview with Vanguard fund founder John Bogle, how much more specifics do you want for a book that is supposed to be a primer/ introduction to stock trading? Is this book going to tell you how to short specific stocks on the S&P 500 based off the next "ominous" indicator signal "derived" from the previous 30 and 50 MACD, not really but it does explain what a MA and MACD is, and gives a solid introduction to how Technical and Fundamental Analysis works, and if you're someone who doesn't know what these terms mean, then this book is your place to start before you think about investing in the Stock Market.This is not to carry the water for Michael Sincere's Understanding Stocks book , but just to point out that many times it seems people look for books like this to make them a "successful" something or other (in this case stock trader) but stock investing and especially active trading are not an exact science but more of an art, so like any good art instructional book, it can only lay out the palette, explain what each tool does,give some solid techniques and examples, and leave the rest to your own tuition and creativity. But Sincere does offer some solid advice about whether he thinks beginners should trade individual stocks in the stock market at all. I started with Understanding Options, the author's other book, and came back to read this book as well. I've read plenty on the market. This guy writes in a very understand fashion. Highly recommended.

This book covers the basics and prepares the reader to learn more deeply about specific investment strategies.

I would recommend this book to those who are looking for a good basic understanding of investing in stocks and some strategies to get started. I found Michael Sincere's style to be engaging with a good perspective of the risks and rewards in investing. Now that I have a better understanding of some investing basics, I look forward to reading other books he has written on stocks and investing to further my understanding.

I just love this book and the entire series of "Rookie Read About" books by Allan Fowler. Thoughtful and simple explanations, and great photos. I started reading this book to my two year old son, and though it was a little early for him, he understood a surprising amount of it. He's still enjoying and learning from it at 3... gives us lots of things to talk about as he explores the world. His little friends enjoy these books too when I read to them. The series is probably best for children between 3 and 6.

It is great for building vocabulary as well.This book focuses on the parts of plant including, pistil, stamen, petals, pollen, etc. It deals with fertilization rather than photosynthesis. This is a nice introduction to Reiki.I have been interested in all types of healing for many years now, but I can't say I know much about Reiki. My wife trained in Pranic healing and I think they are quite similar (although a Reiki master or experienced Pranic healer might say differently). Anyway this book provides a good overview of Reiki, where it came from, the role of the chakras, the basics of scanning etc.So if you want to practice Reiki, you will have to take a course. This book cannot teach Reiki, and it makes this quite clear that Reiki requires face to face training. But if you want an overview of Reiki, then this is the book for you. It's short and concise but it does provide a good overview.I'm not personally not interested in taking up Reiki training, but I do like to understand these various energetic healing systems, being a healer myself. Definitely dynamic energetic healing is the best way of developing long-term good health and Reiki is one approach which is worth considering and this books gives a good outline!

My brother told me to try this book after I always felt tired and lacking energy. After having read this book I am definately a lot more clear on the Buddhist form of healing. The book is laid out in a concise manner and gets straight to the point. Would definately try it if you feel that you are running low on energy.

Very interesting read on chakras. I liked how the author emerald structured out everything clearly so a beginner like me can understand what chakras exactly are and their healing benefits.

This book has changed my view of relationships and how easily we are attracted to those who are ultimately not our soulmate, but instead our woundmate. I would highly recommend it to those of you who have survived childhood trauma, and thus suffer from codependency or as Ross says, self-love deficit disorder (which I love!) This book will leave you with your mouth wide open, again and again, while experiencing what seemed to me like a million "aha" moments! I see Ross Rosenberg as a true humanitarian on this issue. Way to shine the spotlight on learning to LOVE ourselves first, Ross! Keep writing, making videos, speaking, training and teaching! You have a gift!

Ross is the expert on the dance between Co-Dependents and Narcissist. I had no idea why I was always attracting this type of toxic person. Ross spells it out plain and simple. I have been able to peel another layer of the onion back learning about SLDD, and how it has contribiuted to attracting toxic people. He answers the question, "why do we love people who hurt is" - shocking but true. He gave me tools plus resources to recover from SLDD (Self Love Defecit Disorder) and ways to stop attracting toxic/narcissistic people. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. I've even been able to use Ross wisdom to help other women who find themselves in the toxic dance.

I highly recommend this book especially to anyone who has experienced childhood attachment trauma and/or narcissistic abuse and/or toxic relationships, and I also highly recommend it to those who have not experienced these things so you can understand the dynamics and how and why they exists, order to recognize it to protect yourself.Ross Rosenberg is a licensed therapist who is an expert on these topics (and many others). In this book, he explains the origins of both Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Codependency or Self Love Deficit Disorder (as he has renamed the term). With his "Human Magnet Syndrome" theory, he explains how and why we attract and are attracted to, our romantic partners. He explains in a way that is easy to understand, why codependents attract narcissists and why narcissists attract codependents.Consciously, we may know what we are attracted to in a mate, but buried deep in our subconscious, is an invisible force (that we are not even aware of) that was programmed into us as young children when we experienced childhood trauma, which pulls us toward/attracts us to a person with traits that complement our traits. We were conditioned as young children to be attracted to some people and not others. Subconsciously, we are recreating our childhood trauma in an attempt to heal it, and we are not even aware that is what we are doing. All we know is there is intense, irresistible chemistry. Someone who is high on the narcissistic scale will strongly attract someone who is high on the codependent scale and someone who is high on the codependent scale will strongly attract someone who is high on the narcissistic scale. Ross Rosenberg makes such a difficult subject on Codependence, Narcissists and their relationships so easy to understand. I purchased his new book after reading his first book once again, his expanded re-write version totally hit home to why we choose our opposites in intimate relationships. He has included his own real life examples, which makes it easier to grasp why we become who we are by historical unhealthy parenting. I thought that with all my introspection and spiritual work over the last 20 years, I understood myself. I knew I had a co-dependent issue but had put it on the back burner or on the “to do” list. This book brought to light the real issues. I couldn’t stop crying as so much pain resurfaced. So much crying from pain, crying from joy of understanding and being understood, crying from relief of thinking that maybe I was the narcissist or the one that did all these things no matter how hard I tried and how much I worked on myself, crying from feeling hopeful at finding solutions. It explained it all. I had been treating my symptoms but not the core root of the issues. A must read no matter how much you think you are conscious about your issues. All scientifically based which is so important to me.

This book is amazing. Ross Rosenberg's book and videos (on his website) changed my life. I finally feel like I understand the problem and the solution. Real change has involved a lot of emotional work on my part. I have never been able to heal until now. I finally am really changing. I am very grateful. Gives great insight into, what turns out to be, my life story and the story of countless others. A must read for self discovery on the road to healing.
